Romania
During the last few months, we stayed in Bucharest, Romania where Nick (Virgil’s dad) and Ella (his wife) treated us like royalty! They cooked us delicious vegan Romanian meals, took us on weekend excursions with an endless supply of homemade wine. We can’t thank them enough for letting us stay in their home so long!!

Odessa, Ukraine
We flew to Ukraine to see Virgil’s long-time BFF, Jerry! He’s been living as a full-time traveler for the last year. We got to see this beautiful beach city with remnants of traditional Russian culture alongside Eastern-European posh nightclubs. Of course, we loved the beachside lounge beds!

United Kingdom

Brighton
We had such an incredible time in the UK! First, we visited my sister, Leah, in Brighton where she’s lived for several years. Brighton is a beautiful fusion of England’s artistic, progressive, LGBTQ+, and offbeat scenes. As a last-minute addition, another of my sisters, Katherine, flew from New Jersey to hang out with us too! I was overjoyed to see them, and we definitely made the most of our time. Leah took us to a drag show to see Joe Black, who was on Ru Paul’s Drag Race and is amazing! We visited Lewes, a sleepy English country town, and drank the traditional English-style beer. We visited the London Bridge Market, saw a rock show in Camden Town, and even ate vegan fish and chips!

Birmingham
After such a fun visit to Brighton, we took a train to see my good friend, Tiffany, and her partner, Jamie, in Birmingham. We were pleasantly surprised at how cool this city is. It gets a bad rep from other parts of England, but we thought it was so interesting. You can see the history of the factories and import/export piers on the river turned into bars, restaurants, and nightlife right before your eyes. The nightlife is so happening in Birmingham that you need reservations almost everywhere you go! We laughed and laughed with Tiffany, ate vegan donuts, burgers and drank craft beer (it had been so long!). It was so incredibly nice to catch up and see how amazing this accomplished girl is doing in life!

London
Virgil and I spent our last couple of days in this charming country to explore London a little more. We stalked the Queen outside her castle, danced around the dizzying cobblestone streets filled with colorful markets and decorated windowsills. We drank at the oldest bar in London and soaked in all the history of this stunning city. Oh! And, Virgil got a haircut!

Special thanks, again, to Nick, Ella, Diana, and Pisa (pictured below) for putting up with us for so long in your home!! You guys are the best, and we can’t wait to see you in Thailand.

Wonderful! Please keep telling us about and showing us your amazing adventures. Stay safe and healthy and have a great time!
